Welcome from Mr McGarrigle
Dear parents and guardians,
'I have come that you might have life and have it to the full.'
John 10:10
I would like to extend a very warm welcome to our school website. I hope that you enjoy visiting our website and that it helps you to understand more about our school and how we live and work together as a learning community of faith.
As parents, you are the first and most important teachers of your children and it is within your families that they have already learned a great deal and begun to take their place in the world. However, it is a privilege that I share with all the staff, that you ask us to help you in the task of educating your children. Therefore, your children become our children.
Together we are on a journey which will see your child grow in mind, body and spirit. At Maryvale our community is shaped by our Catholic faith and values and it is within this context that the growth and development of our children takes place. I hope that you will play a full and active part, with the staff and governors, in strengthening our community in which such growth can happen. At Maryvale we recognise and value the unique dignity of each person and therefore our first priority is always the welfare and well-being of all our children.
We share your parental desire to provide the very best for our children and so will strive to give them every opportunity to discover their gifts and talents, to develop them positively and to use them wisely and in doing so reach their full potential. We do not restrict this to just academic work but extend it to include all aspects of school life. Education is precious and so it is important that we work together to ensure that our children have the best possible start.
I feel very proud to have been entrusted with the responsibility of leading Maryvale Catholic Primary School as its Head Teacher. I look forward to working in partnership with you all to build on the hard work done by so many people in the past and confirm Maryvale as a centre of all-round excellence, a haven of safety and security and a beacon of hope and joy, not only for our children, but also for every member of our community.
I look forward to working in partnership with you to achieve the best outcomes for all our children and to enable them to 'be the best that they can be'.
Let us pray that the years ahead will be a blessed time during which God will continue to share his abundant life and love with us all.
Yours faithfully,
Damien McGarrigle
Head Teacher
