Welcome Back!

I’ve really enjoyed my first week back in school. It has been great to see some of you in class and hear how some of you have been getting on at home too.

Maths: Geometry

In school this week the children are revising the properties of triangles and calculating missing angles in a triangle and around a point.

I have set you tasks MyMaths in relation to this. Please complete them by 22/06/2020.

Below are some other activities you may like to try:

Science: Scientists and Inventors

I was blown away by the research you sent in on Stephen Hawking!

I would like you to now explore his scientific work in more detail and write an explanation of what black holes are.

You can present your explanation as a fact file, a poster, a PowerPoint or a short film.

Below are some links that you many find useful:

I’ve also attached two science experiments you can do at home to explore Stephen Hawking’s theories about black holes.

Please send me an attachment of your work by 22/06/2020

Reading

It’s been great to see our engagement percentage on Oxford Reading Buddy slowly creep up but I know you can do better Year 6! Please try to read at least one book and complete one quiz this week.

Well I don’t know about you but in class we were definitely hungry having read the first chapter of the Ickabog together! Reading the detailed descriptions of the delicious food each town makes resulted in me making myself a feast for my lunch when I got home! Keep reading the class text at your own pace and remember to email any illustrations you create. Here is Elisa's haunting interpretation of the marsh and the Ickabog itself!
