3 Weeks in ALREADY!

You’re all doing fab job! Children at home have been sending in their super work and it’s been so nice to see all the great work you have be doing in school with Mrs Jacombs-Clarke and Mrs Hanncox on Twitter. Definitely #inthistogether.

Maths: Geometry

In school this week the children are revising coordinates in the first quadrant. Here is a video if you need to recap on how to do this.

I have set you tasks MyMaths in relation to this. Please complete them by 29/06/2020.

Below are some other activities you may like to try:

Science: Scientists and Inventors

Wow! Lots of brilliant work produced by you Year 6! I’m super proud of what you guys have sent in for myself and Mrs Jacomb-Clarke to see.

So we have all established what a great scientist Stephen Hawking was. You have now also learnt more about his theory on black holes, just to finish our learning about Stephen Hawking this week I want you to research how inspiring Stephen Hawking is and will be for many years to come because of his sheer will power to overcome the difficulties he faced.

Your research can include

  • more detail on his medical condition
  • what steps he took to over come the challenges he faced with his body/speech
  • how his inspirational strength and determination motivated him to carry on
  • His inspirational quotes (you can pick one and explain why you think he said it and what it meant to him/why you picked it)
  • Mind blowing facts to amaze us all!

I personally really like this one! Your work can be presented in any way you choose!

Like the great Stephen Hawking said ‘Nothing is better than reading and gaining more and more knowledge’.

And as our own Eva has told us when we are younger we learn to read and as we get older we must read to learn!’

The engagement percentage on Oxford Reading Buddy needs to be higher Year 6! I know we can do this! Come on please try to read at least one book and complete one quiz this week. We’ve got this!

So the class at school have been really enjoying Ickabog! Please continue to read the class text at you own pace – email me your illustrations at the end of each chapter!

Stay in touch! I love to hear from you all!
