Catholic Primary School

  • With our mother Mary,
  • we gather together joyfully,
  • to love, live, learn and pray,
  • with respect for all God’s family,
  • as Jesus teaches us.

We’ve done 4 weeks!

We are all doing a great job! I really enjoy hearing from you all, the children who are home-schooling and seeing the fantastic work you are doing in school with Mrs Jacombs-Clarke and Mrs Hancox. I hope you are all well and keeping safe!

Maths: Geometry

In school this week the children are still continuing revising coordinates. This week we are looking at coordinates in all four quadrants and translation Here is a video if you need to recap on how to do this.

I have set you tasks MyMaths in relation to this. Please complete them by 06/07/2020.

Recap coordinates have a go at some of the activities through these links:

Please do not worry if you find any of these activities or mymaths tasks tricky as we will be practicing them again! Just have a go!

Science: Scientists and Inventors

We are so impressed with how you guys at home and the children at school have carried out some brilliant research on Stephen Hawking and produced some amazing work for us to share on Twitter and to add to our Hall of Fame homework tab on the website! Mrs Jacomb-Clarke and I have been super impressed! Please take the time to visit our Hall of Fame to see what your class peers have been up too.

This week, I would like you to use the internet to research the life of our next scientist Marie Maynard Daly- her life and what her ‘Claim to Fame’ is

You can present your findings/research however you want!

Some ways you can present your work are;

-as a fact file

-a poster

-a PowerPoint

-a short film

-a quiz with answers

You are a creative group of children Year 6 – I really look forward to seeing your work!

Below are some links that you may find useful:

Please email me a picture or an attachment of your work by 06/07/2020

Please continue to engage with Oxford Reading Buddy as I say every week reading is vital to all your learning! A BIG WELL done to those of you who are going on to Oxford Reading Buddy every week, next week you will be getting a special mention if you are one of those children!

        The MORE you READ

The MORE things you will KNOW

        The MORE you LEARN

The MORE places you will GO! (Dr Suess)

It doesn’t take long take some time to complete some reading online this week and complete a quiz or two – I will be checking! I know you can do this Year 6!

The children at school are still really enjoying Ickabog! Please continue to read the class text at home at your own pace – email me your illustrations at the end of each chapter!

Take care – I look forward to hearing from you all and seeing all your fantastic work! Just have a go!

*I look forward to seeing you all on Zoom on Wednesday 1st July at 2:15pm*
