At Maryvale reading is our golden thread. Encouraging the children to read for pleasure can lead to them having better outcomes and success. Reading records must be brought in everyday and they must be signed. Reading books will be changed weekly. Spellings will also be sent home on a Friday.
At Maryvale, we want our children to develop life-long habit of reading for pleasure and benefit from the improved life chances this brings them. To support families at home to develop a love for reading, we have put together an area on our website full of stories to access at home, including stories read by our wonderful staff!
