Maryvale

Catholic Primary School

  • With our mother Mary,
  • we gather together joyfully,
  • to love, live, learn and pray,
  • with respect for all God’s family,
  • as Jesus teaches us.

A brand new academic year and some fantastic Art work to show off already! Each year group has been focusing on a range of skills, learning new and developing previously taught skills.

There has been some fantastic painting, sketching, toning, texture work, exploration, experimenting, photography, editing and much more! What an impressive first art block Maryvale!

Maryvale Art Club! smiley

Week 1: We have been looking at Pop Art in the style of Andy Warhol. We have created our own versions of the famous 'Mona Lisa' painting in the Pop Art style of Andy Warhol.

At Maryvale all classes enjoy creative art all year across a range of subjects all year round. We have parent workshops to showcase our learning, assemblies to inspire our peers and child-initiated displays.

We have focused Art weeks, have a look at our creative learning journey.

Commonwealth fun!

We took part in the Birmingham Commonwealth 'Bring the Power' Art competition, where we designed 'Good Luck' posters for the athletes competing. We were fortunate enough to win tickets to some amazing events at the commonwealth and the opening ceremony dress rehearsal! laugh
