Year 1

Welcome to Year 1

Welcome to Year 1. The class teacher is Miss Sagoo. Here are some things that Year 1 say about Year 1:

- I like playing with LEGO

- I like colouring

- I liked tracing dots on the Gruffalo

- I liked when Year 5 read Cinderella during DEAR (Drop Everything And Read)

- I like that the Emotion Chart is based on Inside Out

- I like to practice writing my name

- I liked writing and drawing our promises to God

Curriculum

PE days for Year 1 will take place every Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure PE kits are in school each day and will be sent home every half term to be washed. Jewellery needs to be removed (including studs).

Home Learning

Spelling, English and Maths homework will be set every Friday in their Homework books and are expected to be returned the following Friday.

Children can work through the MyMaths Booster Packs. Username and passwords are at the front of your child's Homework books.

Reading is our golden thread to achiever better outcomes. Children are expected to read their Phonic book every night - please sign and comment in your child's Reading Records. Please enjoy reading a Reading for Pleasure book with your child. Reading books and Reading for Pleasure books will be changed every Friday.

You can view RHE (Relationship and Health Education) lessons in advance with children at home by using the following information:
