As we know Year 6 VE Day marks the day towards the end of World War Two when fighting against Germany came to an end in Europe. This year this special day will be celebrated on Friday 8th May. How will you be celebrating? When we celebrated VE Day together at school it was such a special day...we made carrot cookies, decorations and had lots of fun! A real celebration! Recreate this special day with the people you live with on Friday!
Positive Mindset Update
With the creative help of Jack, Ethan, Mrs. Kaur and some of the children from Maryvale, my weekly planner is now complete! It has put a smile on the entire J-C family so thank you! Keep spreading those positive vibes!
Positive Mindset
I was really inspired by Mrs. Kaur's Tweet about making the best out of every situation and I would like your help, Year 6, to fill my home and your homes with positivity. Due to 'lock down' my weekly family planner has been blank for weeks and I've decided to instead fill it with messages of positivity to cheer up the whole family.
But... I have ran out of design ideas! I have four blank spaces!
Can you create a positive mindset design? You may choose to do yours on paper, a window or a pebble.
Email me your creations and I will choose some designs to copy on to my weekly planner.
Let's spread the positivity Mrs. Jacombs-Clarke
Cooking
We had soooo much fun when making our chutneys! Recreate cooking magic with your family at home 🏠
Have a go at making a family favourite together! Get stuck in - a cake, a pie or PIZZA 🍕. I look forward to seeing and hearing about what you have made!
Welcome to Holy Week Year 6
Please take time this week to create some art, write a prayer in your own words based on the prayers we have been learning in year 6 or even write a poem to thank God for everything we have in our lives that we should be grateful for!

Calling all Year 6 budding artists!
Mrs. Jacombs-Clarke is challenging you to a draw off! Check out Art Hub for Kids channel on You Tube for some simple, effective and fun drawing lessons. A great way to spend an afternoon and practise a bit of mindfulness at the same time.

Mr. Clarke and I are still arguing over who created the best Easter bunny!
Email me your creations or post your pics on the Maryvale Twitter page #maryvalefamily
After a STORM comes a R A I N B O W!
You all brighten my day with your pictures! Well Done 👍
Science
Look at what has happened to the bread we put around school to investigate which environment would cause the bread to mould first. I think it’s a fair conclusion to say the slice placed in the book corner and kitchen cupboard were the fastest to mould and almost turned into green dust! Yuk!!
Have a go!
Stay positive and stay safe!
Wishing you all good health during this difficult time. Looking forward to seeing you all again soon! Keep updated through Marvellousme and the school webpage.
