Due to a bubble closure the children have been working super hard at home to continue their learning, growth and development.

Here are some of the amazing activities that the children have been getting up to smiley

PSHE/PD activities:

The children have been focusing on 'healthy eating' and 'keeping fit' they have been taught the importance of fruit and vegetables and even had a go at turning this into a fun learning process by making groovy fruit and vegetable faces!

World Kindness Day and Anti-Bullying Week activities:

The children have been learning all about World Kindness Day and Anti-Bullying Week.

We have looked closely about how to be kind, how to be a good friend and why it is ok to be different.

The children have decorated 'helping hands' and odd socks to show they care and support 'anti-bullying'

 

RE activities:

We have recapped the 'Creation Story' and drew pictures, wrote sentences and captions about our favourite parts.

The children have been introduced to the new unit 'People Who Care For Us' they have identified who cares and looks after them.

The children have draw pictures, labelled them and wrote sentences about who is special.

 

Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding the World activities:

Making skeletons out of different materials e.g. pasta, playdoh, rice, cotton buds and cotton pads.

Diwali

Making masks

Painting

Exploring different occupations e.g. vets and doctors

Musical instrument making

 

 

Maths activities:

Filling in missing numbers 1-5, 1-10 and 1-20.

Shape hunts

Sorting categories

Jigsaws

Number formation

Shape formation

Number and shape flashcards

Phonics activities:

The children have been practising their names, initial sounds, blending and segmenting CVC words, green words, red words, Fred Talk and sound formation.

Reading from Oxford Reading Buddy.

 

 

Literacy activities:

Our focus book has been 'Funnybones' by Janet and Allan Ahlberg.

The children have been trying to sound out the CVC words from the story.

Describe main characters, events and settings.

Role playing and acting out the story.
